THE IMPORTANCE OF THE COMPUTER

   Personal computers were first introduced first introduced in the early eighties by an American company called International Business Machine,Inc.,or IBM for short.In just a few years time,the personal computer began to become so popular that even small busnesses and homes began to buy the computer
     Why such an immense popularity for the computer? Simply this: the personal computer empowers the user to be efficient the fast.The computer can do routine operations thousands of times faster than if a person were to do it manually.
     Proper accounting is very important in business.Spreadsheet programs and accounts application packages ensure ease and effcient accounting. Using predefined macros and commands, the software would do the necessary calculations and global updating automatically.This also significanly reduces the chances of errorsin accounting as compared to manual bookeeping.Now,such application programs are also used in homes to plan and prepare for household budgeting of expenses and calculation of income taxes and so on.
      Database programs are also very widely used in business activities.The proper storage of customers'particulars are crucial to any business. Database programs,such as Microsoft Access,allows users to manage their clientele database by alphabetical order of company or personal names,by address,telephone number an so on.The power one holds in his hands to customise his database has no end.
   Finally, word-processing. Powerful word-processing tools like Microsorf Word and Word Perfect has simply trampled over traditional and electronic typewriters.Gone are the days when the typist has to white off typographical errors with correction tape or fluid.The word-processor comes with spell-checkers,dictionaries and even grammar-checkers.Simply run the spell -checkers and grammar-checkers after typing the document and the word-processor will highlight any errors that may have occured whilst typing.Just make the necessary changes before sending the document to the printer and-voila!-you have an error - free document!
    And so, these are just some of the reasons why the computer is so important.
