"Reading is the Bridge to Knowledge". That was the theme of the Reading Champaign in Sekolah Menengah Pulai Balik. This campaign was carried out for two weeks that is from 16th to 30th April 2009. During the campaign several competitions were held. They were:
- A synopsis-writing competition
- An elocution competition
- A poster-drawing competition.
All the students and teachers were involved in this campaign. It was compulsary for all students to read storybooks. A timetable was set up to ensure that every class had a chance to go to the library to see the exhibition held there.
The prize-giving ceremony was held on the last day of the campaign. The campaign was a sucess and it is hoped that the students will continue to read even after the campaign timeline.
